Have You Ever Slid Down the Trunk of an Elephant?

Okay, you might be thinking, “Isn’t this just another playground?”. And the answer is…yes AND no. It’s one of the best playgrounds around and so much more. What do I mean by that? Well let talk about some of the awesome things you can do here….

When my family and I visited The Gathering Place we started out by looking around in amazement, wondering where to start. Of course the kids took the lead. Keeping kiddos from jumping from one thing to the next can become quite the feat. Some of our favorite parts of the playground were all the things that looked like animals and different foods that you could climb on and explore. We also had fun checking out what I like to call “the mirror garden” full of large mirrors where you can see yourself from all kinds of directions. So many fun things to do!

Besides the playground itself (we’ll touch more on that in a bit) you can sit in the riverside swings along the Arkansas River. Or you might want to check out the neat skate park and BMX track. There is also a sensory garden and an area filled with sand. It’s a great place to walk with your family as you travel the many paths ingrained within The Gathering Place.

Alright! Back to the playground.

Whether your climbing a giant snake, hanging out in a bear or traversing a tower and it’s bridges, there is fun for each member of your family. The playground area is so big you could spend days exploring.

And did I mention that you can slide down a banana slide and the trunk of an elephant.

There is stuff to do from toddlers to adults and if you are like me and my family, your inner kid will come out in full force as you join in the fun! If you’re coming to The Gathering Place, make sure you have plenty of time to explore and check everything out.
