Visiting Warm Springs Ranch – Home of the Clydesdales

My family and I are always looking for fun and unique experiences to enjoy. The Budweiser Clydesdales are some of the most iconic horses with their size and coloring and I have had the pleasure of seeing these horses at different events over the years. During one of those events we learned that there were ranches that housed the Clydesdales and guests could visit throughout the year. During one of our recent road trips we were excited to realize we were close enough to Warm Springs Ranch to visit.
Warm Springs Ranch is located in Boonville, Missouri and is the breeding facility for the Budweiser Clydesdales. If you are thinking of visiting you can check out the different excursions and tours available here on their website – https://www.warmspringsranch.com/tours-and-experiences. Some of their excursions include taking a wagon ride around the property or having your own up close and personal harnessing and grooming experience with the Clydesdales. For a more cost efficient option, the History and Horses walking tour is a great choice. This is the tour my family and I went on and it was wonderful.
The History and Horses tour started with a short video about the Clydesdales and the ranch. After the video we started the tour around the facility. To make sure everyone could hear the tour guide, all the participants were given an earpiece to wear throughout the tour. The tour guide shared some history and facts along our walk. Not only did we get to see some of the larger horses but we got to walk by and see the baby Clydesdales as well! They were so cute. And bigger than I imagined! At the end of the tour we got to take a picture with one of the Clydesdales before we left. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and welcomed questions if you had any.

Along with seeing the stables, we walked by one of the transport trailers that is used to move the horses from event to event. It was very informative to hear how the handlers protect the horses and consider their wellbeing throughout their journey.
Before you visit Warm Springs Ranch, you will want to book your excursion and arrive before your reservation time. This will help make sure you have plenty of time to get parked and ready to go. Upon arrival, a gate worker will check your reservations and allow you to enter upon confirmation. On the drive down to the parking area there is a large Warm Springs Ranch sign that makes a great photo opportunity. Feel free to stop here and grab a photo to help remember your time at the ranch.

The workers at the Warm Springs Ranch are helpful and will guide you through the next steps in your excursion. Once your excursion is finished you can stop and visit the gift shop and pick up a souvenir to take home with you. So, If you’re passing through or driving close to Boonville, add this Ranch onto your bucket list! You won’t be disappointed.
If you want to visit one of the other ranches that house Clydesdales you will also want to add Grants Farm to your list in St, Louis Missouri. While I haven’t had the opportunity to visit this farm yet, it has a lot of good family friendly activities for you to enjoy.
