My Experience Buying Banana Ball Tickets

If you are like me, you’ve probably heard about the Savannah Bananas or at least seen some of their videos on Instagram or another social media site. When I first started seeing them I had no idea what I was watching, I have been a long time baseball fan and it was intriguing. Needless to say, when I came across a post about signing up for their ticket lottery I quickly messaged my whole family and encouraged everyone to sign up. Fast forward a few months to where I was selected for the ticket lottery and where I ended up getting tickets. Now I want to share my experience with you…

 Ticket Lottery

While stadiums sometimes have ways to get early access to Banana Ball tickets, most people become eligible to buy tickets by being selected and given a time slot through the ticket lottery. Before the season begins you will sign up to join the Banana Ball Ticket Lottery. For the 2026 season, you had to sign up by the end of the end of October in 2025. The season for 2026 started around February. You can check out the website here https://thesavannahbananas.com for updates on how to get tickets.

When you go in to sign up you will fill out a short form, to be entered into the ticket lottery. Besides inputing standard contact information, you will also have to pick a team and location you would like tickets to (I was only allowed to pick one event while signing up). After signing up, I was told I would get more information, which came though email, as it got closer to when the tickets went on sale. I was also really impressed that I got two more emails in the following weeks keeping me updated that my ticket lottery draw would be later on in the year. The event I had picked was later in the season, so the draw would be later than some of the other events.

Getting Picked (or not!)

As the event I had chosen got closer, I got an email informing me I was chosen to get the chance to purchase tickets! Sadly, my sister also got her email saying she wasn’t chosen. In the same email I was given the steps to follow when purchasing tickets. A quick reminder here, just because you are given the opportunity to buy tickets doesn’t mean you are guaranteed tickets. They sell out fast! If you are not picked in the lottery, you will also most likely get an email letting you know.

If you are chosen, there are a few things you will want to do ahead of your time slot to help you have a more seamless checkout. In the email, you will be given a link to create your account and you will want to have that completed as well as your payment information set up. Another thing to remember here, even though your payment is set up, you will still have to enter your CVV code at the time of purchase so you will want to have that handy.

Ticket Buying Day

When I was chosen to try and purchase tickets, I was given a time slot of 10:30am and once I knew my time, the planning began. Being new to this ticket lottery system, I wanted to know exactly how I would get on to buy tickets. The first thing I did was figure out what game I wanted to attend and what seats I wanted to purchase (you didn’t get to pick your specific seats, just the section. Our seats will be assigned closer to the day of the event.) Once I had that figured out, I made a backup plan or two in case the tickets I wanted were already sold out.

I also decided to try and log on to the site 15 minutes before my time slot in case I ran into a problem. When I was logged in there was a countdown to my time slot and when my time slot arrived, the website refreshed with a button you could click to buy your tickets. One note here, one time the page did not automatically refresh and we had to do it manually. The stadium I was trying to buy tickets for had a game Friday and Saturday nights, as well as Sunday afternoon.

Before getting on to buy tickets, I had googled which day is usually more popular to attend and it said Sunday afternoons (while still busy) was the least popular of the three days. Of course, that made me happy since that’s the day I wanted to go! This stadium was also selling two types of tickets, $40 and $60 tickets that determined if you were closer or further from the field.

When my time to purchase tickets arrived, I quickly went to the date and time I had chosen, I added the tickets to my cart (5 was the limit) and quickly checked out. I was so relieved there were no hiccups! There were a few other things I learned through this experience though…

  1. When I went to purchase my tickets, the ones I wanted were not listed as low in availability, but others were.
  2. Friday and Saturday evenings appeared more popular.
  3. The $60 tickets seemed to sell out faster than the $40 tickets did.
  4. When tickets in certain sections of the stadium are low or sold out it lets you know on the purchase page.
  5. Another family member of mine had a later time slot at 12pm and was able to purchase $40 tickets on Sunday but the $60 tickets were sold out.
  6. Your tickets will be sent to you closer to the day of the event.

I can’t wait to attend my first Banana Ball game and share my experience with you. You can look for that article later in the year.

If you didn’t get picked for the ticket lottery and you still want to go to a game, i’ve heard there are occasionally tickets that become available on the official Banana Ball site from people who can no longer attend.

I hope this article helps the next time you want to buy Banana Ball tickets and I can’t wait to hear your experience. Let us know how it goes in the comments! – Pepper and Passports
